About Melior Legal

Melior Legal is an independent legal practice founded by Ian Gordon that provides construction-related legal services to clients in Australia.  It’s aim is to provide high quality legal services in a personal and better way.

Although Melior Legal is based in Perth, it services clients throughout Australia and Ian Gordon visits the eastern states of Australia regularly or when required to meet the needs of the clients of the firm.

About Ian Gordon

Ian Gordon has experience in a broad range of construction, engineering and infrastructure transactions, including dispute resolution. He acts for companies listed on the ASX Limited, private companies and not-for-profit organisations.

While working in-house at Stockland Corporation Limited, Australia's leading diversified property company, Ian was responsible for the legal aspects of all construction and construction-related projects undertaken by the Commercial Property, Residential and Retirement Living businesses of the company in Australia. As a result, he has a sound understanding of the key commercial aspects of construction and construction-related projects.

After more than 33 years working in private law firms and in-house with a leading diversified property company, Ian Gordon established Melior Legal in April 2024 as an independent law firm providing personal legal services to participants in the Australian construction, engineering and infrastructure industry.

Ian brings a pragmatic and commercial approach to the preparation, negotiation and finalisation of transaction documents.

From an office in Perth, Ian works with the clients of Melior Legal throughout Australia.
